HASHORA PROJECTHow It Works
Understand the proof-of-work concepts behind Hashora and engineering decisions still to be finalised.
Design overview
Proof of work in brief
Miners hash candidate block data in search of a result that satisfies the network difficulty target. A valid block is broadcast, and independent nodes verify it against consensus rules.
From transaction to block
- A wallet creates and signs a transaction.
- The transaction is shared with the network.
- A miner selects valid transactions and builds a candidate block.
- Mining hardware searches for valid proof of work.
- Nodes check the block and its transactions.
- The network follows its consensus rules to determine the accepted chain.
Mining is not guaranteed income
A miner’s expected share of block discoveries depends on its hash rate relative to the network. Pool shares are accounting records; they are not themselves blockchain block rewards.
Decisions Hashora must publish
- Block interval and difficulty-adjustment algorithm.
- Block subsidy, issuance schedule and any supply limit.
- Transaction rules, fees and confirmation policy.
- Peer-to-peer parameters and reorganisation protections.
- Mining templates and Stratum compatibility details.
SHA-256 hardware compatibility alone does not guarantee compatibility with Hashora. Consensus rules, block templates and mining-protocol integration must match.
